How is voting turnout? They saying HIGH numbers in most states?
How is the youth vote looking? They turning out at all?
Are people waiting in the long lines in these big states (Ohio, Pennsylvania) despite weather?

2. Youth vote is looking good, turnout in most places better than expected. |
|
Look for the youth vote latter on, trust me it when they will be making the runs. I think it will be above what is expected, way above average.

5. I got there at 6:30 1/2 hour before pools opened |
|
I was the 60th person in line. When I left around 7:20 or so there were closer to 300 people in line. So pretty good turnount (8th ward Bloomington, MN) mix was pretty representative of the community there. Mostly older, but definately some younger faces there. Was raining then but has cleared up here now.

6. I just heard on AAR that Ohio... |
|
...is expecting 73% turnout!
My polling place was packed. The guy standing in line in front of me was there for the second time - he thought he'd vote early, stopped by at 7:00, and people were lined up outside for a good distance, so he decided to come back later. When I was there, there were 200-250 just inside alone, with the line just going out the door... imagine how many people were there early!

There's little else on the ballot today. I'm reading accounts from all over the city. People are pumped.

8. As polls opened here in Michigan |
|
we had a very long line at seven o'clock this morning. Seemed to be middle aged and older in line. Greenville is a small town of about 9,000 people and I know we will have a record turnout here. I drove by the school a few hours later and the line was still there.
This is great news for Kerry... the larger the turnout the better odds he has of winning.

9. My line in a suburb just outside Cincy |
|
was very short. We only waited maybe 20 minutes. But this was in the middle of the day when most folks are out working. Plus this is Bush country out this way, so I say let 'em stay home.
The line was about half older folks and half young mothers with babies.
At my house: 3 votes Kerry, 1 vote Michael (Badnarik or Peroutka? He didn't even know which one he voted for!)

...line was stretched around the building at 5:30 AM. Many college-aged kids (many of them wearing "liberal" t-shirts)...

Lots of young voters, too. There was even some poor guy on crutches at the end of a very long line.

13. Usually at my polling place in No. CA there is no wait at all, today... |
|
...I had about a 35 minute wait, behind maybe 50 people. Noticeably different than in previous elections.

14. Historic Turnout in Bethlehem PA |
|
No one ever remembers having to wait in line before. There's been a wait of around 1/2 an hour all morning.
All sorts of people voting. We had more than half the normal day's voting numbers within the first hour or so of voting this morning.
Other reports from all over the Lehigh Valley in PA are that people are seeing numbers of voters like no one can ever remember.
