Voting later with my Democratic brother and mother. It's a family thing. :) Got any tips for me? I'm telling you, I'm feeling very nervous. This morning I just burst into tears thinking about how hard these past four years have been, and the thought of any more of them is enough to make me sick. I know I'm only 18, but I don't think I could spend another four years in this country with Bush in office. I've already felt so horrified at what I've had to see, and the way I've been treated by people because of my strong beliefs against war. I don't want to move, I love my country, but when it comes right down to it, I have to do whatever I can to ensure my sanity and safety. But reading the posts here have reassured me some. Sometimes I feel very alone, but knowing there are others with me in this fight makes it that much easier. Love you guys, keep thinking good thoughts for me.

3. Good for you! Congratulations. Here are my tips: |
|
If you can, download a sample ballot before you go and make sure you know who you want to vote for in all of the categories.
After you fill out your ballot, double-check and triple-check. It's easy to make mistakes, especially if you're nervous. Don't let anyone pressure you to hurry up.

|
take an ID... you have an accent, or are minority, your passport will work, I ain't shitting yuo
Bring a book...
Bring water
Bring munchies
Know your voting rights
If you are chalenged, the Passport should be good enough and DO REPORT IT.
Oh and most importantly enjoy the experience and HAVE PATIENCE
You may also want to bring music along... or a radio
Oh and REMEMBER, if you are in line at the polls at closing time, you still have a right to vote... GOT IT?
GOod now go out there and VOTE

I remember my first election, and I felt the same way (1980 for Carter). Hang in there, you'll feel so good afterward!

13. This election is in many ways about your future |
|
I'm 58 and other than taking away my social security I think I could last through a conservative period but you will need to stop the disappearance of the middle class, stop all this war mongering and stop raising the deficit if you and your kids will have any kind of future.
