DUer Request for Action: Easy, Cube Rats Can Do, Too!
There's someone out there right now, driving in their car, thinking about stopping to vote. But they know the line will be long. Maybe the weather is cold. Maybe they think, their vote won't matter anyway. Maybe they just need a little push. And a song comes on the radio. A song that gives them that little inspiration, that little kick, to wait in the line and vote Shrub's dumb ass out.

Let's give them that little inspiration. Every little bit helps.

This is something quick and easy we can all do, even if you are at work right now. Most radio stations, you can go to their website and request a song via email, so you don't even have to call.

I'll toss some ideas out there. Feel free to add to this thread, song ideas of your own.

Please request these songs at your local radio stations:
Rap/Hip-Hop Stations: "Mosh" by Eminem
Alternative/Rock Stations: "Megalomaniac" by Incubus, "American Idiot" by Green Day, "Imagine" by A Perfect Circle
Classic Rock Stations: "Fortunate Son" by CCR
Oldies Stations: "Revolution" by The Beatles, "Imagine" by John Lennon
Pop/Light Rock/Soccer Mom Stations: "Beautiful Day" by U2

2. "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World"
by Neil Young. It will remind everyone of the end of "Fahrenheit 9/11," when we were all sobbing in the theater.

Also "No Surrender" by The Boss.

When Eliz. Edwards appears at campaign rallies, they play "Walkin' on Sunshine." So, there's another.

6. Another one...Chimes of Freedom (Bob Dylan)
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 01:42 PM by wildflower
excerpt

Far between sundown’s finish an’ midnight’s broken toll
We ducked inside the doorway, thunder crashing
As majestic bells of bolts struck shadows in the sounds
Seeming to be the chimes of freedom flashing
Flashing for the warriors whose strength is not to fight
Flashing for the refugees on the unarmed road of flight
An’ for each an’ ev’ry underdog soldier in the night
An’ we gazed upon the chimes of freedom flashing.

...I don't know what stations these days would be willing to play any of the songs I listed, but I can hope.
