Power to the People!
What I have noticed, both in my own experience and in DU anecdotes, is this:

Everyone who is going to the polls to vote is primarily concerned that ALL votes are cast and are counted. I have seen and heard both Republicans and Democrats being very polite with each other at the polls and even sticking up for each other's right to vote. It's kind of like that saying from one of the founding fathers (Patrick Henry?) that "I may disagree with what you have to say, but will defend to the death your right to say it."

The one thing that may come out of this election is that rank-and-file Americans hold democracy as their sacred institution and when faced with potential disruptions and corruptions of that institution (by the media, the campaigns, or the lawyers) they will be even more honorable in doing what they can to protect each person's right to vote.

I tend to be naive, optimistic and idealistic, but I am starting to have faith in the American people as a whole. In a weird, twisted, way, maybe it will turn out that W united us after all.... all of us united against the corruption of our democratic institutions.

Hope IS HERE!

1. I will never forget that scene at the beginning of F-9-11
when those congresspeople were asking for just one senator .....never had something made me so sick in this country ...

And if it wasn't for Michael Moore doing that movie, I would have never known this even happened because is sure didn't show on our local news....

4. Did I get the quote right?
Anyway, there is a bit of a realization hitting the Repubs around me... Not very buoyant, nope they're not.
