Here in PA ... the story is long lines
Everyone I work with has had to wait in lines of at least one hour and have said there was definitely a Kerry edge. Lots of students and younger ones voting too!

5. Lots of people here in Mechanicsburg, just outside Harrisburg.
I poll-watched earlier today. More people than they had ever seen in the first two hours.

This is part of Alabama transported to Pennsylvania, but I thought we were holding our own. I think that our percentage of voters vs. registered will be higher than theirs. Quite a few first-time young adult voters showed up, mostly independents.

No lunatic challengers, and everything went smoothly, although people did have to wait.

6. I know Republicans in Mechanicsburg who are voting Kerry
They just don't admit it in public as they fear some sort of excommunication from their lodge, or knitting circle or whatever.

That area will go majority for Bush, I have no doubt of that, however it won't be in the numbers he got in 2000. There are too many conservatives there who just don't like him at this point.

Still PA rests on the turnout in Pittsburgh and Philthadelphia (hee hee). If we get good turnout, Kerry gets PA. I just got back from voting here in Pittsburgh and though there weren't long lines they said that there were huge lines this morning. Bet they grow again this afternoon. The people there (small precinct with only 4 booths) seemed like they had had a hell of a morning and were expecting more this afternoon. All good signs.

9. I can believe it. Frankly, I didn't put out a Kerry sign because
I'm single and a big chicken. Too many freeper-looking vehicles turn at my corner to head out into the countryside and didn't want any confrontation.

Two of my neighborhood older guys will vote *, but neither of them likes * much. They just don't like paying taxes, and I cannot convince them that Kerry's not going to raise their taxes--they don't make $200,000 a year! I'm hoping that I convinced one of them to vote for the Constitution Party.

There was no Dem challenger to the Repuke Congressperson here, so I voted Green instead. That tells you a lot about the place.

I hope that Phillie and Pitt turn out very, very heavily, because there are reports that wagon loads of Amish are trotting to the polls in Lancaster County, and they rarely vote. Maybe that's what Zogby is seeing.

2. Called my mom in FL
She said the line was an hour long in Orlando...but that's because things were moving fast. Last night she want to vote early and the line was FOUR hours long.
