My Kerry sign was *finally* stolen |
|
It's been up for like 2 months. NOW it was stolen. I wonder why they waited until election day? I live right across the street from our polling place so I suppose it was a voter.
Has anyone *not* had a sign stolen?

1. Sorry, I'll bring it back in the AM... |
|
I had to borrow it to beat some bushistas about the head and shoulders.

2. I think maybe folks are slightly less likely to desecrate |
|
my Veterans for Kerry/Edwards sign.

5. Maybe that's because they think you've got a loaded gun in the house |

4. If you are right across the street |
|
is it possible your state has a sign law that sez you can't display that close?
In MN its 100 ft from the polling place. The chief election judge can remove stuff, even if on private prop if not far enough away.
My sign hasn't been stolen!

9. The people who live next door to the school have a * sign |
|
that's still there. And that sign is practically in the parking lot!
I don't think it was that. But it was a good thought!

The guy done the street with the * sign took it down yesterday! He was the only one in our neighbor with a lawn sign and I am sure no one stole it (not a freeperville kind of place). We do not miss seeing it.

7. Not stolen, but messed with it... |
|
Someone apparently tried to steal my Kerry sign, but it's stuck in the ground pretty good (my ground must be like concrete out there or something) so they couldn't get it out. Hell, I'm not sure how I'm going to get it out, so I may just leave it there.
They bent it down, which took about 3 seconds to straighten up. It hasn't been touched since, that I know of (hard to say since I smeared axle grease all along the edges so if they try again they'll be in for a nice surprise). Nor have they touched any of the 8 other Democratic signs I have in my yard for Senate, House, and local positions.

8. I take it as an indication that * is going down hard that |
|
the incidence of Democratic sign vandalism and theft in my area (suburban Philadelphia) is lower this year than in previous elections. It has been extreme in the past, but not this year. Maybe they just know that they are going to lose.

I was surprised to see that! Didn't really think that would happen!

11. Congratulations! I always consider it a compliment. |
|
My first Kerry bumper sticker, the one without Edwards, was ripped off months ago. I considered it a badge of honor and ordered five new ones.

12. Tonight I plan to remove my Kerry/Edwards yard sign. |
|
Because after Kerry's landslide victory there will be plenty of happy and loaded Kerry supporters that will want to steal mine regretting that they didn't pick one up, so I won't give them the opportunity.
Sorry Kerry/Edwards supporters...but you're not getting MY yard sign. Get your own!:-)

14. Sunday afternoon, they got one of my two signs and my neighbor's |
|
sign. The other one was pounded in deeper, so maybe they were too wimpy to get it out. Anyway, it lasted until the election.
I had several other signs stolen; this last batch seemed to do okay, though. I wonder if the vaseline on the splintery wooden post did the trick?
