If w have a scenario where all the top four contenders in Iowa finish within 34% of each other, there essentially is no winner, momentum wise. Edwards would get a bigger bounce than Kerry, since his expectations would be lower than his. If Kerry comes in a close second, but has barely beaten Gephardt, Clark make himself into the breakaway candidate, the one who differentiates himself from the others. In other words, the same type of strategy he used when he entered the race.

1. Perhaps but I don't believe so
I think that because its such a dogfight in Iowa that all the interest is there and will remain with the ones duking it out there.

I'd be more inclined to think that this has become the big dance that Clark and Lieberman should have gone to.

Had it just been the Dean/Gephardt show then skipping it was a good idea. Didn't work out that way. He's ceded all momentum by his absense and I think it will hurt him.
