My corner of Ohio - looking good |
|
Numbers of voters like I've never seen. I've already checked in about half of my occasional voters (who we identified over the last few weeks as Kerry supporters).
We're hanging out across the drive from a republican - and planting a few seeds. We're getting 2-3 times the thumbs up he is.
:)
Normally, I'm voter 2-5 at 7:30. Parking lot was jam packed at 6:30 ad I was voter # 50.

this afternoon. She's on my list of 98 Kerry voters who are new or only occasional voters. Talked to her dad (sporting a Kerry bumper sticker) this morning. She'll be by after school. I look forward to checking off voters from the upcoming generation!
I also identified voter with Downs syndrome who is very clear that he wants to vote for Kerry. It was the second stop by his mom's house (where he also lives). First time I didn't wear any identfying pins and she would't let him talk to me. Second time I wore a Kerry pin and she asked if it was possible for her son to vote (and for her to help him). He's been follwing the campaign and understands what voting means - and was already registered but has never voted. Mom always votes on his behalf by asking who he wants for president then using her vote to cast his ballot. This year they both get to vote. That is cool.

Thank you for posting that! My grandson has Downs syndrome. He is 15 months old and precious. I am glad to know that he will be able to vote some day!

Central Summit County is Democratic - the outlying fringes tend to be Republican for opposite reasons. Northern is pretty rich; a lot of folks in my neighborhood are poorer than their central and northern neighbors - but they also tend to be morally conservative.
