11. I live in Ohio so let me give you some positive news |
|
I worked the polls in my small rural Repuk county(38,000 pop.) from 6-10 this morning. We were swamped with voters! I was a "greeter" (we have all city precincts in the same building, so I had lists to tell people what their precinct was) There has never been a line to vote during a presidential election here-today there were 20 people lined up at 6:15 this morning. Also, we were told to tell people who had political buttons, t-shirts, etc., that they had to remove or cover up those items. We had to tell 4 people to remove their Kerry/Edwards buttons, no * buttons, etc. The last election, * beat Gore 59% to 38%. I am predicting that * will still take this county, but only by 5% or less based on people I have talked to, K/E signs in yards, bumper stickers, etc.

I've talked to several Repubs I know, who are going with Kerry, and have yet to talk to a Democrat going for Bush.

9. this will be THE story about this election |
|
'secret defections' from bush by repubs. they may NEVER admit it, but there will be a lot of people voting secretly AGAINST bush. and no one is polling for 'shame' out there!

My Republican brother-in-law voted for Shrub last time. Now he says he lied about everything he promised to do, and he'd vote for a monkey rather than Bush. This is in the Maine 2nd District. (I know--Bush?...monkey? DNA testing is not conclusive.)

16. that's part of my point... |

_some_ of them are open. how many MORE must be staying quiet rather than admit they were wrong? people who lied when polled out of party loyalty?
HUGE turnout with this factor added in?.... many surprises I believe.
