These Exit Polls are an attempt to make Dems complacent
First hint is that it comes from Sludge! I don't want to rain on anyones's parade, but these folks will not go quietly. Is it good news? Yes! Now get out and vote. This 20 year Naval Officer is counting on you.

We need the old Woody Hayes (one of my hero's) attitide.

See, one time Woody was beating Michigan 42 to nothing. OSU scored a touchdown late in the 4th quarter and Hayes went for 2 points! When a reporter asked him afterward why he went for 2, Woody said "cause the wouldn't let me go for 3!"

Let's bring it home. Oh, and GO BUCKS!

2. Seriously, *most* Dems are not online scanning for exit polls...
And those that care enought to look for them are the type of political junkie that is going to vote no matter what.

There are things to worry about. This is not one of them.

6. Roger That
Just want to make sure we play the full nine innings. I'm so pumped. I'm from Ohio and have watched from a distance as my state surrendered to one party rule.

I know a lot of wingnut officers in the Navy, and I want so bad to rub their noses in $%^& over this.

4. it's more likely to make republican's depressed
than Democrats complacent... especially after what happened in '00.. we won't take anything for granted after that.

5. I don't see these polls stopping any Kerry voters either, there
is to much at stake to keep silent any longer. The fight has only just begun, after January, there is still the mess in congress to clean up, it's not going to be easy.

13. Sent my absentee ballot in two weeks ago, and
convinced my two former Rush listening "dittoheads", one sister-in-law, two neices, one nephew (all first time voters) and my mom to vote Kerry. It would be a beautiful thing to win Ohio, and even better if we could get rid of Voinovich.

9. According to an exit poll I saw, Kerry is only down by 2 in NC.
So we are not complacent. And I have been waiting 4 years to vote against Bush again. I would not miss the chance if Kerry was up by 50.

10. I don't think any Dems will be complacent
Unless they're in a 'safe red' state, then maybe they'll use that as an excuse. :eyes:

But no, favorable exit polling is unlikely to deter people from casting their ballot. The chimp has angered too many people for too long... he will hear from them today!

11. I think everyone on this board wants to add their
voice to the chorus that says, "Get your ass back to Crawford!". I, for one got up at 5:00 am to be at the polls at 6:00 am in the blue, blue state of New York just because I couldn't wait another minute to vote against the bastard. I think most of the people who post on this board share that sentiment, and wouldn't skip voting for the world.

16. Correct, most voters are not online scanning for exit polls
Those who are are too virulently opposed to the current administration to become complacent.

17. We keep saying get out the vote PLUS
most people that are not obsessed with politics are not clicking on their computer checking exit polls. I hope the people that are reading it here have already voted. The cable stations have been very careful not to release all of the info. I know my family (mom, aunts, uncles..etc) would not have a clue as to how to check for exit polls or something. THey just wait til it is announced.

20. You can't win by listening to them
If they have Kerry up, then you could say they are trying to make us complacent, if they have Kerry down, then you could say they are trying to instill voter apathy (though I dont think it would work). I don't think they are really that accurate, especially before the late voters come in. If an early exit poll shows 60-40, then that's one thing, but a 50-48 exit poll means nothing. I'll wait for the real information tonight, and ignore all the exit polls crap.
