Fairness Doctrine Reinstatement: First Order of Business !!!!!!
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 04:36 PM by steve2470
We need the FD back, so we can counter the RW idiots. Kerry, please make this a priority. We HAVE to change the media to one that is actually telling the truth.

1. And how about some legislation
to address media consolidation. No company should be able to own multiple stations and newspapers like Rupert Murdoch.

6. No, No, No, No!!!!
First, a major, deep anal cavity IRS audit of John O'Neill and his law firm. Turn him upside down and shake.

Then, the fairness doctrine.

Priorities people!!!!

8. Dear President Kerry and your FCC and Congress, give us our
Fairness Doctrine back. It worked well for many years and protected us from a lying, biased media.

10. yes and no
I think yes on restricting media consolidation but no on the fairness doctrine.

I think we can beat them at the media game. Look how well Al and Ed are doing on the radio (and many others). We just started in the game and we are winning. Maybe if it was restricted to local over the air stations.

So basically the roads should be controlled but you can drive what you want.

22. Media Reform yes
1. Ownership restrictions (no entity should even come close to having a monopoly in any media market).

2. Fairness doctrine, if it is instated, should only extend to partisan political campaigns and nothing else.

3. Make Public Broadcasting Independant! De-couple it from commercial and government influence. No more commercials, and no more CPB.

17. Can the president unilaterally install the Fairness Doctrine?
How does it work? Does it have to be passed by Congress?
