I voted on DIEBOLD this morning!!!

As soon as we walked in my stomach sank!

We used to vote by taking a black marker & filling in the oval next to a candidate's name on a sheet of paper. thge paper was then fed into a black box.

Took all of about 10 minutes.

So in the name of "efficiency" the City installed Diebold touch-screen voting. 10 minutes turned into 1 hr 10 min!

People were pissed!

1. Here in Alaska...

..they purchased Diebolds for most of the state.. But they decided (like several other states) to hold back on using them until they're fitted with receipts.

I filled in little ovals with a pen ;) and they were fed through the optical scanner thing..

...for the second time. Isn't it remarkably similar to writing down your preferences and then pitching the ballot down a deep, dark hole?
