Please resist making trivial posts....
they are burying the important ones. We don't need to know who said what just this minute on some TV show.... or that you feel good.... or that the Repubs are scared. Come on, keep the page clear for things we need to know. Thanks. And yes, it took this trivial post to send my message.

1. seconded.

Just because a thought crosses your mind, folks, doesn't mean it needs an entire thread devoted to it. There are 55,000 people registered on this site. Please, use some discretion.

6. Every post on DU is a trivial post.
We could all sit back quietly and observe the results. Instead, we choose to come here and share our excitement with the same kind of conversation one hears at a party of friends. Trivial, but exciting and interesting comments tossed back and forth. Face it, nothing anyone says here will alter the course of history, and that makes everything said here trivial in the largest sense. Yet what is life but a string of meaningless trivialities shared among friends. So in the deepest sense, nothing is more significant than these trivialities.

7. But how do you determine what is trivial?
Maybe it's just the thing that ONE lurker needs to hear to get him to vote. I was really touched by a trivial story today and told three people about it. It really helped me calm myself.

12. If a lurker here needs something ELSE to get them to vote at this point...
They need a swift kick in the butt more than a non-trivial post.

13. Maybe so, but wouldn't you rather have their vote than
see it go to Bush or not get cast?

FORUM...everyone is a little nervous, excited, a little on edge and just a bit goofy...

Lighten up and go wait in the "Breaking News Forum"...for your punishment, of the outrageous.

Who is going to decide what is and what is not trivial?

Who's standard are we going to use?

If it's yours...I already disagree with it!!!

There is a special forum for the presidential election results
you can go there for the important posts! All posts made are important to someone, mainly the poster, so your opinion of what is important may vary from mine, but that does not make your opinion correct and mine wrong or vice-a-versa.

Skinner set up a special forum for the election, probably just for this reason.
