I am pulling for an Edwards win on Monday.
The recent surge by him made in the past weeks have made me take a closer look at this guy. When I heard him give one of his speeches on CSPAN and talk of his humble background and life defending people against special interest injustice, I was completely swayed.

I truly think that Edwards is the candidate of the people and feel that he is the only one of the candidates who can truly identify with me and my plight trying to get by as a young, soon to be college graduate.

It's a shame that until recently, I had simply written him off as a lightweight with no experience or sound message. I think this recent surge of his has come from people actually taking him seriously and listening to him. Because when they do give him a chance, they are convinced of his merits as a candidate.

So, here's to Edwards and a hopeful victory on monday! :toast:

1. I think lots of people feel the way you do
The advantage of being an underdog is that second looks tend to go in your favor.

3. Wouldn't that be wonderful!
A total upset in Iowa, followed by the same in New Hampshire, and an end to the Dean/Clark/Kerry/Kucinich wars...Everyone could get behind John Edwards! Well, nearly everyone.

I sure as hell could!

4. If, per chance, he doesn't win the nomination
don't you think he'd make a great replacement for Ashcroft. I'd say VP but its such a do nothing job, I'd rather see him use his skills as A.G.

5. Most definitely
Although I do think, as far as getting the Dem ticket elected, he would be a great addition to the ticket of whomever is nominated.

But if not, I most certainly would love to see him as AG, and make another run for president when a new Dem nominee is needed!

10. A little bit of everything.
Edwards has:
Clark's Southern background
Dean's "you and I can change America" outside-the-beltway rhetoric
Gephardt's working class roots
Kerry's hair (not exactly, but they both have good hair)
Kucinich's populist rhetoric
Lieberman's Clinton-centrist image
Sharpton's African-American appeal

eh, started losing it towards the end, but had to get all the candidates in there.

11. Edwards has everything. His time is now!
And he does have African American appeal - more than Sharpton. Wait and see.

9. I too am pulling for Edwards to show up strong on monday
As a young voter, after initially being energized by Dean (which, by the way, has me actually watching C-SPAN and CNN for the latest news), I began giving a second look at the rest of the candidates.

After a while, I came to realize that Edwards represents the hope of the Democratic party with his uplifting message. I have never agreed more with a politician than when Edwards describes the Two America's that the bush administration has been pushing though.

Edwards is personable, does not pretend to talk down to people, does not have an arrogant attitude, and has not involved himself with the political sniping of the other candidates.

Further, Edwards has been in Washington long enough to know exactly what is wrong with it (as he says so often), yet he is not a complete outsider with no experience.

More importantly, Edwards has, in my opinion, the most comprehensive plan with his 64 page 'Real Solutions for America'. (available here in pdf format: http://www.johnedwards2004.com/real-solutions.asp)

After reading halfway through his book Four Trials, my belief in John Edwards has been completely solidified, and his professional integrity provides a role model for myself in the future as I begin my career as a young lawyer.
