What does everyone think of Super Delegates? |
|
40 percent of the delegates needed to clinch the nomination — are senators, governors, members of the House, and other top officials and ex-officials.
Should votes determine the nominee or do we want the elite to select our candidate? This is buried by the press but is this what we want as a party?

the people should decide not superdelegates. I mean, superdelegates represent everything that's wrong with today's political so-called democratic system, that those who are already entrenched in the system get to remain through a privelege system. That's how the establishment began, that's how it is perpetuated, and that's what's wrong with it: the voter's interests no longer dominate the goals of government. It's a sick form of nepotism.

2. I wonder how firm their support is. |
|
I mean for example let's say they've officially endorsed Gephardt and he never drops out... do they have to vote for him at the convention?

3. They can vote for whoever they want |
|
It's rigged to get guys like Bradley out of teh way early. Gore had all the Superdelegates so it was fruitless to even run. Right now Dean has them but they can change to whoever the frontrunner is to get a quick candidate.
