I'll try to be as innocuous as possible. RE: Luring new voters
Are there any studies or data on this? I've been having the discussion lately with friends and on this board. Everyone agrees Dean is bringing people into the fold who have never worked on political campaigns before and perhaps even not voted before. But is there any hard data on that?

Where I disagree with my friends is when people start to call it unprecedented. I maintain that other so-called maverick candidates including but not limited to Clinton, McCain, Perot, and even Nader also got a lot of people involved who had never been involved before.

Even as I mentioned in a previous thread, pointing to meet up numbers and internet based devices don't really paint an accurate picture since those are recent phenomenon. So I agree that he has harnassed this more than any other current candidate, but still don't think it's unprecedented.
