8. Freakin' Newt Gringrich has already stated they are out to
eliminate the Democratic Party. They DO NOT want a 2 party system. They are out to fracture the the party into so many splinter groups that none of them will challenge the repugs.

Toxic-Tom Delay is my case-in-point.

24. What?? That's not what Newt said on Meet The Press a few months ago!
He said he sees faults in the Republican party (for having been in control for so long) that he used to see in the Democratic party when they were in control for a long period.

Look at last years illegal redistricting of Texas. We are in the grips of a Nazi-like power machine.

14. The GOP is officially "The Establishment"
And we are at war with them. They will damage this country, perhaps beyond repair. But we will prevail.

28. Prevail as what? Loyal opposition?
No. They look at us as limp-dicks (sorry ladies, but that comes directly from my sister who has worked in a GOP congressional office for 30 years. Same sister who told me three weeks ago that her office cannot afford to process e-mails and most GOP offices are like that. She said it would take an extra staff member to handle e-mails and the money just wasn't there. I said that maybe it would be if we weren't spending $200-billion in Iraq. We then proceeded to family WW-3). We just don't have the guts to lie like they do. Thank goodness. However, the truth doesn't work against their lie machine. What is the answer? This country has to hit rock bottom, like a skid-row drunk. The middle-class has to become totally bankrupt and indentured to the Bu$h top 1%, with massive loss of assets and realization that the new paradigm is work-till-you-die (and please die early). There will be no Social Security. There will be no MediCare. We are fucked. Get it? If I sound like a socialist, I think I might be. As of tonight. I just don't know.

30. I agree with you
I think we're going to hit rock bottom. But maybe some of the organizations that we've formed over the past two years will bring the left and progressives together. Maybe we'll even figure out how to crack the religion nut one day and siphon off some of the right's votes.

Who knows. I still have hope that one day progressives will prevail. What's the alternative? To roll over and die? Fuck that.

7. Remember-they had 12 years of rule before
and the country was so disgusted by what they wrought that they elected Bill Clinton--twice. The American people are dumb sheep but they aren't totally stupid. They'll wake up, hopefully in time for the next election.

22. We can't wait until the next election!
Wake up! Elections have been compromised. You can have elections until the next century and you will only have Republican masters running things. We have to get them legally out of office now by indicting them for their political and war crimes.

There have to be some honest politicians, lawyers and judges out there who are willing to take up the gauntlet!

And so it will be with the GOP.

If one thinks that voting is the end all, then they have no understanding of this great experiment in the human experience we call America.

What I will do, what I will continue to do is work in my local community to make it better. Whether volunteering at the food bank, doing rescue work with abandoned animals, acting as a gadfly at local government meetings, and calling, writing, and emailing my government representatives to let them know what I think they should be doing; all entail community activism that does not cease on this first Wednesday in November.

Ours is that fortunate group of humanity who have freedom granted to us by birth and passed to our hands by those who sacrificed before us. It is their efforts we honor by continuing to endeavor to act responsibly and with concern that we leave this world a better place than was given to us.

Ours is a "....call to bear the burden of a long twilight struggle, year in and year out, "rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation"--a struggle against the common enemies of man: tyranny, poverty, disease and war itself." JFK 1/20/61

“I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn't matter with me now. Because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land. And I'm happy, tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.” MLK 4/3/68

"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die." TFK 8/11/80

The Right has called upon the faith of their followers. Ours shall be the faith and belief in better days. It is on our hands to work for it.

One nation, one world filled with liberty and justice for all is our goal. None alive today may reach that Promised Land, but we as a people WILL get there.

18. Is She as Beautiful as she looks in those tiny pics in The Nation?
Sorry to ask such a trivial question at such a somber time, but she looks so beautiful in those tiny pics in The Nation. I don't mean the question in any sort of demeaning way, I know she is one of the leading progressive thinkers of our time. But, I just want to know:

Is that picture misleading, or is she really an angel?

Fucking rigged from noon to night. I am proud to say I will NEVER watch Hardball or CNN again. EVER. It's so easy. I'd rather watch REALITY TV, at least they admit that's not really reality.

And this is from a news junkie, addict. All my news is going to be internet based. The internet is the only hope for Democracy.

but she is also the stupid bitch who slammed Clark over Pristina in The Nation, among other places. She is part of the problem with Democrats: an anti-military whiner who can't let go of the 60s.
