i'm already hearing her uninspiring, baggage-weighed name tossed around in the news like it's the second coming.

does anyone in their right mind really think she has a chance in hell of connecting with the lower classes in the southern and plains states?

we need a populist. someone who can take the message of 'what's the matter with kansas?" and run with it. someone like jim hightower or ed schultz, but with some governing experience

the last thing we need is some opportunistic career politician that even I find to be an elitist snob. how do we derail this thing before it gets too far?

But I have already designed a new Hillary Clinton for President logo which will appear in my signature once they return.

Run Hillary, lose 2008. Its that simple. LEARN from this election, LOOK at the map, SEE what you can do in one cycle.

6. Agreed.
Way too much baggage (not to mention that the country will not accept a woman as president, especially not now with all the wingnuts out in force). Dean or Kucinich next time!

going up against a massive portion of the populous that has embraced an extreme far-right agenda? Yea, that will work.

18. Should we try to emulate the far rightists instead?
We can *never* attract the far right. They are lost to us and should be ignored. Better instead to move to the left (which in other times would have been considered the center!) and bring in the progressives and others who will not concede the moral ground to the right wing wackos.

29. Yes.....
.... but the right's hate for Hillary is even more intense than our hatred of Bush*.

She will not win a single Southern state and she just has too damn much baggage.

Speaking of things to fix, we'd better find a way to fix the primaries so our candidate is not selected by the likes of Iowa and New Dampshire. I don't know the answer, but I know something that is broken when I see it.

Worst choice of all. Also didn't mean to lump Dean and Kucinich in the same basket. Just giving examples who are further left than the accepted candidates.

35. DEAN.IS.NOT.A.LIBERAL
Sorry for the screaming, but it pisses me off that people still claim that Dean is a liberal. That was a label given to him by Republicans trying to frame him by his objections to the war and his defense of civil unions.

My mom attended the Clinton Rally in Arkansas Sunday and told me of a group who was videotaping people that were making their way into the event. The same group that videotapes women that visit abortion clinics in this state.

That's all that matters. Hello? Arnold Schwarzenegger was elected based on his popularity alone. Hillary is a shoe-in, and would have won by a landslide had she run this year.

31. And democrats didn't hate Bush?
YET, he won.

Polariziung figures win elections because they INSPIRE their base.

Say what you will, but the dumbfuck evangelicals really love bush, they really truly adore the man.

Most dems don't like Kerry or his personality. They voted for him because he wasn't Bush.

And that my friends, is why Kerry lost.

25. oh and the republicans didn't hate bill clinton?
he kicked dole's ass in 1996.

Let me tell you something. Our economy will be in the crapper in 4 years.

There will be a bigtime recession because of Dumbya's economic policies.

And that's when the dream team a hillary/obama ticket will win.

Dems win elections because of MINORITY TURNOUT. Minorities need to feel energized.

You elect Hillary and put Obama on the ticket, and black voter registrations and electoral participation in this country will go off the charts.

It's a clear winner in demographics, especially in FL where the black population has been increasing.

The problem is HATRED doesn't win elections. You have to vote FOR someone. Many many many democrats, espeically minorities, love Bill and Hillary Clinton.

If Hillary selects Obama as her VP, you'll have a winner.

It'll be a dream team.

38. Hillary is not Bill
She ran eight points behind Gore in New York versus an unknown fillin. Her campaign was filled with gaffes and missteps, and her senate career has been undistinguished.

She'll wind up with 44% max versus Unnamed Republican.

28. NO
NO.

A hillary/obama ticket is the winner.

4 years is not enough experience for prez, but it's fine for VP. And after 8 years as VP, Obama will be president.

She is unelectable nationally.

If the we put her up for nominee, we might as well just throw in the towel.

SHE IS THE WORST CHOICE FOR 2008.

Lyndon Larouche would have a better shot at winning.

37. I dunno, but...
I never want to see John Edwards again. If we've learned one thing from Walter Mondale and Hubert Humphrey, it's that America JUST DOESN'T LIKE LOSERS, whether they really did lose or not. Al Gore understood this, but everyone seems to think that Edwards wants a shot at '08. I love the guy, but the cretins who don't look the issues will look up from their Sports Illstrated and Wal-Mart cookbooks and say "Oh, him! That guy lost big-time four years ago, dint he?" Edwards won't have a chance, not even having a Senate seat to keep him out there...

It's time for the Democrats to really take a chance. Enough Republican-light, Skull and Bones white rich men like Kerry, enough gruesome panders to rural voters like Edwards. If we want to change things and CHANGE them, we need an exciting candidate the likes of which has never been mominated: an African-American. Barack Obama, the only bright spot of that entire repugnant night, has got the skills, the talk, the attitude, and he's a winner who knows how to run a campaign. (Bob Shrum should be sent to Iraq for the campaigns he's run...he should be imprisoned for losing so many big elections for Democrats.) It maybe a pipe dream, but Obama proved he could crush a "values" candidate...to hell with the DLC and Bob Shrum.
