I got the red state blues

so I'm driving home from watching the initial returns at my son's, and things were not looking too bad when I left. I have NPR on the radio, and am going down a dark country road when they announce Florida went to the chimp. I grasped the steering and wail out to the universe "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" and I think they must have heard me on Mars. Been damn near suicidal all day, depressed, unable to eat.
Acceptance is finally setting in, denial slowly fading.
But I will always hate the red states, and I hate what they believe, and I hate what they breed. The Lynddie Englund's of our country, the rest of the Abu Ghraib Neanderthals (duhuya, I never lernt 'bout no Gineeva cornventions), are all products of red states. I refuse to accept that this is the best America can do. I hate how our moral progress as a nation is halted, chained by these "religious" morons. I hate how they hijacked an entire religion to justify slaughtering 100,000 civilians for nothing. So I am trying to be optimistic and hope they are right about a huge comet crashing into us someday, and then we can start over from scratch.
