Rove got us on the gay marriage issue
all the exit polls (if they are to be believe said that moral values was the number 1 issue for many people). This is where we lost the election.

I cant believe that is what the election came down too. All of the high crimes and misdemeanors committed by Bush and his thugs is okay as long as we all hate gays. THIS IS WHAT IT HAS COME TO IN OUR COUNTRY....UN-FUCKING-BELIEVEABLE!

Right, are these the same exit polls that said Kerry won Ohio and FL?

4. It was NOT only the gay marriage issue
The "moral values" included partial birth abortion, abortion AT ALL, stem cell research ("It stops a beating heart!"), anti-Islam...it goes on an on. Remember, liberals are "TAWDRY" people. "Not good people". "A sorry bunch". And that was just from Babs and Lynne Cheney.

5. I agree with you....
and when you brought up stem cell research that hit a nerve for me...it is just CRAZY to think that now that Bush gets 4 more years the entire country has to wait at least 4 years to start to do the research necessary to help find cures for all types of diseases....THIS IS SICKENING to me....our government has been hijacked by right wing religious nuts and 55 milliom people are guilty by association based on last night's votes!

6. Word, Dennis.
They only care about the human life when it is a cell. After they're born, to hell with them.

8. He totally did in Ohio
If that was not on the ballot in Ohio Kerry wins.

Kerry outperformed Gore in both Cuyahoga and Franklin County.

The problem was Bush did much better with evangelicals this year because of this issue.

9. Yes, another triumph for hatred
As a people, we truly do suck.

Mercifully, this will stick to them: they can only win through bigotry and fear.

11. you got that right.
In my opinion, atleast. I live in Georgia, and I am frankly fairly angry at the Ga democrats. First, I realize it wouldn't have done anything in the Presidential election. I think it really hurt in state and local elections. Who knows, if the Ga Dems had a spine, maybe Denise Majette would have stood a better chance. And it SHOULD have been avoided. Back in February or so, the state legislature had a vote on the amendment being on the ballot. The first vote failed, so the amendment wouldn't be on the ballot. The repugs applied a little pressure, and the lack of spine became obvious. The dems caved, and brought it up for a second vote. Well, it passed the second time causing it to be on the ballot. Then the religous right yelled and screamed that their sheep better run out and vote, or gay marriage will be legal, and your son will be forced to marry a guy, and your daughter another woman, because the libruls hate baby Jesus. This was so pathetic of the GA Dems. I frickin knew it was going to happen, and I was pissed when it was brought for a second vote. They made their bed, and now they have to sleep in it. I am also embarrassed that the voters of Georgia thought it such a grand idea to include discrimination in the state constitution, WELL DONE GEORGIA!!!!!
Kevin.

12. Morals = Culture war
Hell, women went through it, blacks are still fighting.

The fact is that one half the country wants to tell the other half how to behave.

Meanwhile the leaders go about picking all of our pockets.

14. First, gay marriage. Next, divorce. It's personal relationship control
Who doesn't believe that the same fundies who oppose gay marriage also want to control straight marriage too, like regulating who should marry, whom they should marry, and outlawing divorce as if it led to partial-birth abortions? That's coming soon. It is the excesses of the religious right that will be the undoing of this winning GOP coalition, and unless it finds true religion it will be headed for a fall.

15. Ballot
Putting anti gay-marriage initiatives on ballots in key states was the masterstroke of this campaign.

It's almost like the Democrats didn't see it coming. We deserve the loss for totally bad political instincts, strategies and tactics.

23. what gets me is how the gays took the bait
back when it was so obviously bait.

They took it, chewed on it, ran with it.

Middle America was horrified. Rove was laughing his ass off.

Oh well.
