The MOTHER of All Conspiracy Theories...
Awhile back, when Kerry made the "I actually voted for the $87B before..." comment, a friend told me something which I immediately brushed it off as way too conspiratorial, but is haunting me today given the quick concession and call to "unite behind Bush".

Around the time of the Dem primaries, the anti-Bush movement was at its peak, and we all rallied around a maverick, anti-war, liberal Democrat who spoke OUR minds named Howard Dean. As the Iowa election drew near, Dean was ahead by as many as 21 points. After the election, John Kerry, who had previously been polling in single digits, won the election by a relatively large margin. I remember thinking "Hmm. Skull and Bones member...that kinda freaks me out."

Now, think about it. KKKarl knew that the anti-Bush movement was HUUUUGE and growing by the second after record job loss, record poverty levels, and an extremely controversial, costly, and bloody war. He had to know that if there was a fair election, they would lose handily. So, if you were them, yu could go back to your S & B and say "we really need some help here to stay in power". Up pops a S & B member who will run "against" you...and roll over for you when the election is "over". Basically, my friend believes Kerry was a Bush plant from Day One so that Bush could win re-election.

This theory which was presented to me some months ago is now freaking me out...

1. Except that it's well-known that Kerry was planning on running
before most of us had heard of Dean. Most of the people on this board can atest to the fact that I stepped on more than few toes in my Dean fervency. I also believe that the Democratic Party worked EXTREMELY hard to cut Dean out of the picture. But Kerry as a Bush plant? No way.

2. I have lost all faith in the DNC
Thier ability to run political campaigns is shameful. I could have done a better job running the Kerry campaign. And if I could have done a better job, then something is wrong. It's like they're not trying. I feel it now. I really think the DNC is just a front to distract us from starting riots.

6. Exactly.
It's not a conspiracy, it's simply that the Democratic party can't mount a defense. Period.

My thoughts:

8. Kerry never hit * very hard. Even in the debates
He let him off easy. Dean was at least exciting and would have had * and the gang furious. After reading some of the exit polling stuff here from Ohio and FL, I thought Kerry rolled over pretty easily.
I guess I'm more disgusted from the "apparent" support for the regime.
