Who are our opinion leaders? A bunch of people who go around at book-signing engagements for books written well above the average Christian's level, and a bunch of people who sit around and make pronouncements about the way they think things oughta be.
WE HAVE NO, REPEAT NO, PREACHERS ON A NATIONAL LEVEL! At least no preachers outside the power structures of the black political community.
Once upon a time we had them. I'm thinking of Fosdick in particular. But that was generations ago.
AAR needs to find a few dynamic preachers of the Gospel. Not people who spout off shrill PC platitudes. People who preach the liberation of the poor, the righteousness of the peacemakers, the golden rule, and the promise of the kingdom. Give them regular airtime, and get some way of giving them seed money to start broadcast ministries.
It took a generation to go from early televangelism to this last election. We can jump start the process.
