I'm starting a newspaper
Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 12:41 PM by Fear
Well, after the depression, I'm ready to kick it again.

Something I've been thinking about for quit sometime is the fact that being 'here' on DU gave me a feeling that besides the 50000+ registered members here on the board that there would be a tremendous amount of people out there that knew what was happening and going.

Well, the outcome was of the 50/50 nature - which told me that there's just too many people uninformed of the current events and are just brain dead receiving the mass media stuff.

I guess we all have to work harder to get the information out, lower the bar for people to access the information and provide the information as it should be.

More places need to be opened up to bring out the information. (Starting a diversity of website presenting the information).

More people can start doing this, using RSS feeds (these are ehm...welll, kinda like a short excerpt and titles of articles that you can download to put on your site / kind of like advertising- sorry, can only tell you in tech terms) and such we should be able to start and connect an independent media setting from and for all people across the globe.

There are already independent media sources out there I know, but more is necessary - sources need to be verified etc. etc. and it needs to be linked and hooked up together.

SO, being a web application developer - of course I'll get something on line tomorrow or so (been working up a design and fine tuning some of the issues I've been facing).

Any ideas for a good name? - my goal is to keep the bar low for ALL people, the intention is to get the right information out, the name needs to blend in as 'another' one, yet grabbing.

Well, I'll be thinking about it all some more, just wanted to throw this on the table here :) - Help is very much appreciated :D
