Profiling the ideal Democratic candidate is a fool's game

It's really putting the cart before the horse and contributing to the vapidity of American political culture and the strait-jacketing of our electoral choices before we've even finished healing our wounds. Ideally, in my opinion, the next round of candidates will include at least one who will convince more than half of the voters in the right number of states that he or she can lead us according to progressive, reality-based, Democratic values. This person does not have to come from any particular region or class. This person only has to be able to capture the imagine of just enough people, and have an organization that can demoralize Republicans while energizing Democrats and other progressives to get out the vote.
