2. red areas don't get hit because there aren't many people there

the reason new york was hit, and especially the towers was because it was very populated. the purpose of the attacks was to kill as many people as they could. that's why Al Qaeda planned the attack at the LAX in 2000, but the clinton administration was able to prevent that attack and catch the person with the explosives before they went off.

According to popular wisdom here, they won't hit (say) Kansas because "they know that GWBush will *really* go after them"

See, you have to understand, as a group, *we* are move valuable to both God and his handpicked-Republican-Overlord.

in an abstract way. Lots of NYPD and NYFD hats around here. Lots of crying eagle graphics on shirts (hideously hilarious) and LOTS of desire to avenge WTC victims by killing as many A-rabs as possible.

But, there is no real "heart" in the "heartland" None.

I thought there was but the last 48 horrific hours listening to stuff on tv, at work and out in public places has cured me of that.

BTW, her is the dreamlist I've compiled---thinks I've heard more than 3 times as hoped for goals:
a. end abortion and criminalize it
b. end gays (I didn't get the details but the odd phrase was repeated)
c. end affirmative action
d. end birth control
e. encourage women to go back to the home (mainly it seems to be what will raise men's pay and end all unemployment problems
f. drill *wherever* for oil because we need it
g. make Canada stop criticizing us and invade Cuba

That is the local western Texas "dreamlist"---I've heard all of these over and over and over again. A lot of other anti-immigrant stuff is constant so I didn't add that.
