I'm sick of hearing about Hillary '08 already!
Every station, every pundit.

I wish she would come out and say that she promises not to run in 2008 so people will just shut the fuck up about it already. For fuck's sake. It's been 2 days.

13. Hillary for Pres. is just repub propaganda...
To paint her as mad for power. To take away for her accomplishments in the Senate. To divide the party. The Democratic Party will never run Hillary for President. The repubs will never run Rudy for President. Rudy will run against Hillary in 2006.

3. I'll honestly leave the party if we run her in 08
because that will prove to me that we have zero interest in winning elections anymore.

12. Righr you are and besides...
Who knows if she will even be around then in politics any way? She needs to win her senatorial seat back and you can bet Karl will be out gunning for that seat in 06! She has got to cover her base first!

7. If she promises she won't run, that only means she's thinking about it
The best she can do is explicitly support someone else in the primaries. Even then, the rightwing media will gloat that public pressure for concerned citizens was the cause of her decision.

9. Hear, hear!
Frankly, I'm sick of ANY talk of "let's plan for 06!" and "wait till 08!" I have lived through TWO elections (2000 and 2002) where I've comforted myself with, "Next time, we'll stick it to the bad guys! Next time we'll win!" I don't want to hear it anymore. It feels too much like we're giving up on all the hard work and money and hope that we poured into THIS election.

Every single candidate I've ever given money to has lost. This time around, even though I'm a grad student and had no income for 2 months this summer, I still gave money to the Kerry campaign. I don't want to think about the next election. I want to be pissed off about this one. I feel like I've been robbed of so much already, I don't want to be robbed of my right to be angry and disgusted.

10. Hillary is going nowhere!
First of all she has to win her Senate seat back in 06 and I don't think that is going to be an easy sell and you can bet with the congress firmly in the clutches of the Empire they will do nothing to assist her in her home state.

Secondly she is so polarizing that they could run the corps of strom Thurmond and he would probably beat her. I really like Hillary and I would love to see a Woman President before I die but it ain't Hillary! These guys would eat her for breakfast!

15. you got that straight. There's a lot of people who REALLY hate her.
Personally I like her a lot and would gladly vote for her as a prez, but this country will just not accept a female prez especially as this country is doing a big turn to the right.

14. There's nothing she could say that would stop the speculation.
When Clark announced, people, including "Democrats," concocted all these insane theories that he was a "placeholder" for Hillary, that he would throw the race into chaos and then step aside and pledge his delegates to Hillary and so on.

Hillary fixation is a disease, and there is no cure that I'm aware of.
