504,000 oklahomans vs. 4,400,000 californians |
|
504,000 Oklahomans voted for Kerry.
4,400,000 Californians voted for Bush. They are a blue state.
Just over one million people in Massachusetts voted for Bush. They are a blue state.
What's my point?
If we don't stop bashing entire states populations we will never win again. Every single state in the union had a sizable vote for both sides. The god-damned electoral college skews things and makes all of this blue state red state BS seem important. It isn't.
We have to reach people in every state and try win their hearts and minds.
I may be just a little upset at state bashing since I live in Oklahoma, was born in Ohio and most of my family is from Kentucky. And yes, my mother was a "hillbilly" thank you very much. I saw that wonderful old slur tossed out on a thread earlier.

I was wearing my "liberal and proud of it" t-shirt last week when a woman in 7-11 said something like "ewww, how can you be a liberal?"
My reply, "it takes a lot of courage, especially in this cracker-ass state."
The fact is, you are right. We are everywhere, sometimes very thinly spread, but we are everywhere. We need to stick together now more than ever.
