College Republican stormtroopers disrupt Democratic rally
http://www.woi-tv.com/Global/story.asp?S=1605772&nav=1LFWKGNJ

Two political rallies turned into a brawl Saturday night in Des Moines.

"There are seven of us who worked really hard at putting this conference together, said Jason Cole of the college republicans. "so, we met, discussed and majority ruled. We went down there."

What they didn't discuss is what to do if things get out of hand. One of the Bush supporters shoved Jett and she pushed back in anger.

8. actually I meant what I said
It is nice to see that term used about Republicans for a change. The last time it was used it was against Dean supporters. So I meant to congradulate the poster for his use of the term.

I missed that one. Would have loved to give my opinion there! The last storm troopers I am aware of happened in Florida 2000!

10. The Dean people who had the termerity to go and campaign for Dean
were called stormtroopers by the NYT in a snarky article and that was posted here with the headline Dean perfect stormtroopers by a Kerry supporter. It was that I was referring to. The thread has since been deleted so I can't link it.

11. Thanks for the response.
That was uncalled for IMO, from what I know of it, I don't mind disagreements, but thats just plain wrong.

13. My parents are Republicans!
But, they swear that they don't recognize their current party.

My mother keeps saying that the current GOP party is from another planet.

She might be right.

7. In the future use the term "thugs"
Just as descriptive, has the right connotations of criminal violence having no redeeming features.

5. They can, and she should have clocked the kid
these conservatives are violent people and they won't be stopped by singing Kumbyah. They only understand force.

12. Yeah. This reminds me of the thugs who atacked the Miami
vote counters in 2000. Tragically, they buckled under to them, and no one did a Goddamned thing about it.
