Let's be clear about the fraud controversy
Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 08:59 PM by TimeToGo
First, I don't know and you don't know. That is important and goes for both sides of the argument.

Second, if it isn't true, it isn't true regardless of how painful it is.

Third, even if we discover it and prove it -- it probably won't change this election.

BUT (and this is important),

Fourth -- if it is true and it can be shown to be true -- we will know what we are up against in 2006 and 2008. Then all this talk about getting the right candidate will be secondary. We will have to come to terms with the kind of country we live in, and our tactics will have to change.

So yes, I want to know -- ONE WAY or THE OTHER. I can't honestly figure out why you wouldn't want to know. Are you afraid we will be marginalized? Ha! Already happened -- happens every night on TV.

Now if we continue on about it after it is investigated, then we run the risk of (as I said before) of looking like UFO believers or Vince Foster conspiracy guys.

But, the election was Tuesday night -- this is Thursday night -- I don't think we have to worry about crossing that line just yet.

Get the evidence.

4. If that is true we live in a dictatorship
and I want to know that. And I won't worry about regular elections.

9. it will also tell us whether that segment of the electorate that we once

thought might be 30%, is really the 51% or more that the media and the Republicans now claim that it is. It will help us identify the true problems that we need to solve, instead of blaming people/strategies/institutions at random.

8. you are consistent with this
Can I ask you why you care whether or not anyone is wasting their time? What are the people who are starting hundreds of F-word threads doing?

We have a right and a duty to question the results of this election. We don't have to prove anything before we question everything, and with the people running this adminstration it is simply prudent to question everything they do.

2. Oh, it happened
There is evidence from 2000 and 2002. There is evidence from 2004 just now coming in.

We will prove fraud, and if anybody thinks otherwise....

3. Florida Figures
If they are correct, the Florida figures from:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=1315482&mesg_id=1315482
are one of the most important aspects so far on this subject.

6. Exactly as I keep pointing out-head against wall even with great people
like Walt Star-if our votes don't get counted, what's the point of 2006 or 2008?

If this is a divided country, and we know it is-and the only way to win is to GOTV, and to make sure every vote counts so we have 51% of the vote. Otherwise, Bush will keep being reborn.

It's not a Democracy if the votes don't count. I don't understand why this isn't the only real issue.

7. i have a nephew that lies adn doesnt own up to anything
even if i accuse him of lying and later find out he was telling truth, i shrug shoulders and tell him, you lie, i dont trust so i point the finger

steal the election once and twice, if i question the third election, that is your problem not mine.

10. If it is true- we hang some fuckfaces from city hall.
If it can be shown that it caused Kerry to lose there will be hell to pay.
