Has anyone else's blood run cold? |
|
I am a bleeding heart. I cry when others are sad. I feel empathy to the point where sometimes I literally feel others pain. I'm the type of person who tends to get dumped on by others because they can get away with it. I never seek revenge because I simply don't want to make people feel bad even if they deserve it because I am so connected to people that to hurt them is to hurt myself. It's like a curse.
So it's telling to me that my blood has run cold over this election. The people who I know voted for Bush are dead to me, so to speak. I feel myself completely disconnecting to them which is so very unnatural for me.
For the past four years I've kept hoping that I'm simply over-reacting to what's going on in our country. I look around and see how un-fazed so many other people seem to be and think that perhaps I'm just being an alarmist.
Yesterday morning, after the shock and disbelief of the election subsided, something overcame me. A chilling sort of awakening. I cried like I have never cried before. It wasn't from my heart but from somewhere much deeper. It was though I was crying from my soul and I don't even know what a soul is.
Something has awakened in me. Something is going on. I feel it. Some universal energy field is vibrating and I'm in tune to it. I have been reading the DU every single day for months and I have never before seen so many thread topics that I was literally just thinking about starting myself.
Not sure if all of this means something is calling me that I need to continue to respond to or if I need to just ignore it and take a break for awhile.

have called us "delusional" and "losers" SINCE Bush "won" the election. They're saying they have a mandate.
Don't give an inch. Let your blood run cold. In that quote -- when they came for the jews..." -- when they say "stand up," do you think that they meant "they didn't make a plan to 'reason' with the Nazis?"
No -- sometimes standing up means fighting -- fighting smarter. And you need those "cojones."

3. I keep waiting for something to materialize out of this... |

I keep checking DU to see if some sort of revolution has started yet. The odds are probably against a revolution because it would take something brilliant to keep the momentum going longer than a few days.
