Your story reminds me of this guy that used to stand on the corner on State Street in downtown Chicago with a microphone and amp preaching fire and brimstone at passersby. The thing his, women in short skirts or any revealing clothing were singled out for his particular "attentions" — he would call them Jezebel, or loose woman or some other foul name. Basically this guy was just a lecherous, misogynist pervert who used religion as an excuse to hide behind. I think people who make these public, over the top displays are people with deep emotional problems, and it needs to be OK to say so without being accused of persecuting them.
