where it counts. If 55 million Kerry voters do this, we will get results. This is the only thing they listen to.

5. I Did That With Fox News... I Deleted It From The On-Screen Guide
and put a parental lock on that channel if anyone tried to access it directly.

When my dad visited, he was scrolling ALL the channels looking for FOX News... then he discovered how to use the on-screen guide... not listed.

"Son, what channel is FOX News on?" he asked.

"It's not on my channel lineup," I truthfully replied.

He settled for CNN (instead of MSNBC)... I guess CNN is runner-up and 2nd most like FOX.

6. ooohhh...what system lets you modify the onscreen guide?
i would love to do that...what cable system are you with? Do they all allow this? I haven't been able to figure out anything of the sort with mine...then again, I am technologically challenged by anything that doesn't have an actual keyboard...

15. Dish-Menu/Channel Locks -Block the news-As far as poison
I LIKE FSTV, Link, TDS and Cspan for news. I also like movies and other shows and where I live, without satellite, I cannot get local channels if, say, I want to watch a local (200 miles away) weather channel for storm information.

There IS a lot of poison on television, and bravo to you if cancelling the whole thing suits your life... but your answer is not a one size fits all.

7. I killed my cable 15 years ago, and it was the best thing I've ever done
Between books, DVD and the Internet, I haven't missed out on anything. I make ALL the choices about how I want my news and/or entertainment delivered.

Welcome to a brighter new world.

11. We only used our TV to watch rented movies (no TV at all) for 21 years.
Our children are wonderful. We talked, read, listened to music, shared life as a family.
When I got cable for my computer, I got the "basic" service (basically the networks and C-Span only). Then close to the elections, I wanted to see what the "liberal" media were doing. Oh, my God! Two months of enragement and frustration were enough.
Back to nothing. Wonderful feeling.

17. More people should do this
it is an utter waste. You are basically paying to make yourself dumber.
Get your news fom the radio and the internet and rent videos.

19. I have the "local only" cable package
because it's the only way I can get anything close to decent reception and it's the absolute cheapest package you can get. I do like it though because I get C-SPAN and C-SPAN2 in that package, along with a few others (MSRNC, ESPN, FOOD, etc.). It's supposed to be "local only" so I have no idea why they include those other channels. I have considered ditching cable but I have to admit I really do like the C-SPAN channels. Other than that I could give a rat's ass about TV. It serves no real purpose for me.
