Fuck You Cary and Tara Leslie. And Fuck your President.
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 10:15 AM by MikeG
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A26469-2004Nov4.html

SHEFFIELD LAKE, Ohio -- Here on Redwood Drive, in the little house with the white picket fence, these first days after the election are good days, happy days, blessed days.

"Dear Lord," Cary Leslie is saying for the sixth time since waking up at 3:45 a.m. to go to work. He has prayed for strength not to hit the snooze button on the alarm clock. He has prayed for a safe day for his wife and three children. He has prayed for patience with the foul-tempered customers he deals with at the car-rental counter. He has prayed for a job that will pay enough for a struggling family of five to keep up with the bills. He has prayed for a quick resolution to the presidential election. And now, with the election decided, he is thanking God for listening to his prayers.

Cary and Tara Leslie, shown with their family, liked Bush because they felt he espoused moral values. (David Finkel -- The Washington Post)

Tara Leslie, Cary's wife, has been praying for President Bush, too, and now she is saying, "I think it's so important to have a society of moral absolutes."

"It's really good to know our country had a decision to make, and there are so many people who feel this way," Cary says. "It's a victory for people like us."

6. These dickheads live next to my city.
Hilarious. Sheffield Lake is a white trash wasteland and one of the poorest non-minority areas in Lorain County (which thankfully went blue, so these morans got their vote cancelled). Yet you drive through it and see nothing but BOOSH signs. What the hell ever playah. Let's see how far those morals and values carry you when your fucking job gets sent to Malaysia and you can't pay rent or mortgage.

extra votes have been found in Ghanna Ohio precinct. This is going to be a widespread investigation. I wouldn't count your blessings just yet!

his sorry ass doesn't get shipped off to Iraq after his job is outsourced and he's out on the street with his sick kids who get turned away at the emergency room because they have no health insurance. And Tara, honey, I hope you've kept your girlish figure because once hubby is wearing fatigues you'll be shoving your ass into hot pants and your feet into go-go boots and displaying your "moral absolutes" at the kit-kat club to make ends meet. Have a good life.

11. jesus
come on people. it's not like they were praying for god to strike the democratic party dead, or kill all the gays...

pretty innocuous, in my opinion. just a guy with his worldview trying to make it through his life and provide for his family.

this kind of hatred isn't going to help.

15. Works FINE for me, too.
I did my time in Texas Exile from the rest of the world, and now they want the whole country to be Beaumont?

FUCK THAT. And FUCK Cary Leslie and his idiot wife while they're at it. If they believe the lies about "morals" that Bush told on a daily basis, may they reap the worst of whatever whirlwind he starts.

I have no rePuke FRIENDS, any relations with Neocon bent have at least got enough mental horsepower to keep their fucking piehole shut around me.

In the words of Thomas Harris: "The world will not be this way within the reach of my arm." Any Neocon pukes bringing their filth in that radius do so at their peril: they have been warned.

That's MY rant for the day. Maybe.

14. I hope they are happy

I'm a lot like the guy in the story. I work a half-assed paying job in a red "right-to-work" state for a bunch of corporate ingrates that despise me for having to pay the little bit they do to get the job done. The difference is, I try to do something not just for myself but for others in my boat by voting Democratic. If he stays sinking in his low-paying shithole boat, it's the price to be paid over his misguided moral values.

18. well, mr. 39 posts

You picked a hell of a time to show up at this forum and start trying to tell anyone here how to "rebuild the party" or anything else. A lot of us spent our hard earned cash, hearts and very souls trying to oust the biggest fraud in American history. There is a lot of legitimate bitterness here right now. You might learn how to duck a lot if you are going to stick around.

19. i've been here for two years
and have been a member for a year. a number of posts i've made is irrelevant, especially when one considers how many of these 1000+ members have padded them with posts of vitriol, intolerance and outright hatred.

i'm not a troll and i'm not a freeper. you have no idea how hard i worked on behalf of our candidate. and for mikeG, and his slurrish "texas boy" - there were a lot of dem voters in austin.

i understand legitimate anger, and i also understand that it takes time to heal. but i also know that negative thoughts and actions even now will become inextricably intertwined with the mentality of our party as we move forward.

4 years of shit like that from Hannity and those of his ilk - knowing all the while that there are many sheep amongst us who believe everything that lying piece of shit says.

He and his venom-spouting bitch friend Ann Coulter...

I guess you could say there is a little anger amongst us...

If we don't learn to fight fire with fire, we are destined to continue losing. If that were a similar story about Kerry voters wanting a better life, the wingnuts would have had a field day with it.

This is a whackamole thread with an obvious, pathetic target; we're just blowing off steam. As a bleeding heart liberal, I almost feel compassion for him. Definitely for the kids.

But we're mean down here in big, bad Houston.

Congratulations, Leslie family. You're the first entry on my I DON'T GIVE A FUCK list.

You had your chance for better jobs to support your family. You voted against it.

Enjoy the next four years.

When the bank comes to foreclose on your house, I WON'T GIVE A FUCK.

27. Did I read it wrong
or did it say their kid needed a prayer for bumping her head?

I guess that's how to make everything better.
God did not put us on this earth to be useless drones that can't fend for themselves.

Darn.. I just got a paper cut... hold on while I pray!

OK.. so if there are more of these robots in the world than we thought, the only thing that will make them see the light is to speak the Truth. Do not worship false idols. George W Bush is the antichrist and I think he knows it or is at least trying to live up to the story in the bible.

31. Question?
Does anyone think the Carys have the slightest clue that John Kerry and George W. Bush had the exact same position on gay marriage? I'd be willing to bet my left leg they don't.

But its true, both are in favor of civil unions, but against formal gay marriage.
