I think the hurricanes are what sunk us in Florida
Four hurricanes and Bush and brother Jeb were milking it for all they could. Bush must have come down each time and always with big checks. Jeb put the all the power of the state behind hurricane relief and Bush made sure the feds didn't screw up. Still with all of this, Bush's margin in Florida wasn't overwhelming. But it was enough and I think mother nature can be blamed for Florida.

2. there is something to this
Look at the latest employment report. Temporary construction jobs. Pork spending - it works. At least until the bills come due.

5. Not in my part of Florida
I live in the Keys. (Not Key West) When I did GOTV calling from a list of registered Democrats, I found that too many of them voted for Bush. When I asked why, I got several versions of "it's none of your business." In talking to people in the last few years, though, I have become convinced it's homophobia. Most people are at least ashamed of the feeling, but from other little clues, I really think that's it. As Jon Stewart said, "Two dudes kissing." It's very hard to fight hidden prejudice. I guess it's a good sign that they at least hide it from me. I don't know if it's that they're actually ashamed or that they don't want to hear the speech.

6. Don't be surprised if Bush & Cheney invade the entire continent of Africa
for the terrorist storms that came from its coast this year.
