even though Kerry conceded could Ohio still go "too close to call"?
I mean the margin is close, and absentee and provisional ballots are still being counted. Not only that if it does get very close a mandatory recount would set in. They haven't certified the electoral vote yet either. So, is it still possible that Ohio's 20 electoral votes could suddenly be yanked away from Bush and be up for grabs? but will a candidate conceding the election cancel that out?

questions, questions.

1. As far as I understand
Concession is just a symbollic thing, and has no legal meaning.

2. Unfortunately . . .
Kerry lost. That's not going to change. The faster we accept it, the easier it will be to get on with life. If we keep making up fantasies, we'll just keep ourselves in the gutter longer :(

3. I Think That The Act Of Conceding Is Not A Legally Binding One...
... just a social formality and acknowledgment of the apparent facts. It's the final certification that counts and from which there is no return. Even if fraud or error is proved AFTER certification, it's too late to do anything about it.

If Kerry wins Ohio, then his concession was in error and he doesn't forfeit anything. Ohio becomes his.

Can anyone else confirm this?

5. yes, it's possible
And it is also possible to withdraw a concession: Gore did just that when the mess in Florida was going down.

Not that conceding has any real effect on the election process to begin with. As far as I know, it's just a custom.
