How come Christ is not on our side
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 01:11 PM by Must_B_Free
I don't see how we're not able to out Christian them.

This is the crux of what we're dealing with. How do we get into and defeat the hate and fearmongering?

How does prophetical christianity overcome the constantinian formm of the faith?

Basically what I can think of is that the fire and brimstone stuff is more the Old Testament stuff. Since Jesus is essentially gnostic, we should be able to use Jesus to defeat that older, less sensical part that they are able to draw upon to create all the perverse brainwashing and twisting of moral value that they create in the faith.

We need to push the moral values on them. For example - how about a foot campaign to collect funds for the families of the 100,000 in Iraq killed as a result of Bush's policies and lies?

It's actually not far off. My friend who is Jehova's witness has indicated that his church thinks Bush is money gribbung fraud and liar - possibly the Antichrist. If you think about it, Christianity is about embracing love and cleansing the soul of guilt... There's gotta be some leeway here.

We're going to have to use these channels. We've got to take on our own Mullas who have created a people accepting of murder and accepting of not loving people.

1. Who says he's not?
It is the charlatans and hypocrites who will be judged one day (that is if you believe in Christianity).

The "Conservative" Sermon On The Mount

Blessed are the rich for all good things trickle down from them. Cursed are the poor for poverty results from their moral failings. Blessed are the war makers for they keep freedom on the march. Cursed are the peacemakers for they shall be called appeasers. Blessed are those who inflict harsh punishments for they maintain law and order. Cursed are those who forgive for they shall be called soft on crime. Blessed are those who pray loudly standing in the churches and on the corners sounding the trumpet before them. Cursed are those who shut the closet door and pray in secret for their prayers are not heard. Blessed are those who cast the first stone for the sake of sexual morality for that is the only morality that matters. Cursed are those who see sexuality as a private matter for marriage must be defended against them.

By me, Brian Shawn Mary. I wrote it this morning, please steal.

4. Two Possible answers.
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 01:23 PM by Connie_Corleone
First one: Jesus has nothing to do with this election. God allows us to make our own choices and live with the consequences. He's not up in the sky trying to force people to do what He wants. The "christian" Right made their choice, and now they have to live with it, for worse I predict.

Second possible answer: There is no Jesus and there is no God.

5. Poor humanity loving Jesus.
He would be in tears to see what is and has been done in his name.

7. Technically, Christ doesn't take sides in politics.
But if you know His teachings, then they obviously are much more compatible with liberal values than conservative - and especially neocon - beliefs.
