Poll question: Worst new Senator? |
|
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 04:11 PM by KamaAina
It would've been Alan Keyes, of course, but his surprise defeat :-) left the field wide open.
Early edge goes to Jim DeMint (SC) with this certain ticket to Top Ten Conservative Idiots: "Unmarried, pregnant women should not be teachers." Look out, Rick Santorum! Your reign as the most sanctimonious ass in the Senate could be in jeopardy here.

Sorry, the others strike me just as relatively harmless partisan hacks compared with Coburn.
Coburn is American Taliban through-and-through.

"America has spoken..."
I was not aware that we now had a Senator who wants to kill doctors. That's what I get for relying to heavily on the corporate media. Say, how does (Dr.) Frist feel about this?

12. This is a great thread |

I was thinking last night this has got to be the worst new group of senators of all time. I watched debates in shock they were the best the GOP could come up with. But I actually bet on many of them to win because the states were so damn red.
Coburn is the worst. In order, I would follow with DeMint, Burr, Thune, Vitter, Martinez. I'm not familiar enough with the Georgia guy. Lisa Murkowski would be way up there, but technically she is not a new senator, having served the last two years of daddy's term.

20. Ssssssssss! Got me on Murkowski |
|
much like with Mel Carnahan, too late to remove her name from the ballot :-)
I'd say "newly elected Senator", but then Bush** would hardly qualify as a "newly elected pResident", either, having previously been appointed by the Extreme Court.

Almost makes you think Diebold might be running the poll server...
What a shame. He was so good in "Harry in Your Pocket" -- oh, wait, that was James Coburn. Never mind. Tom Coburn just sucks big green rocks.
Edit: "thin kDiebold"? Slender vote-theft devices?

21. Louisiana's Finest - David Vitter |
|
Will arrive in Washington ready to go and represent the people of Louisiana! I bet he'll bringing some company along with him: his prostitute mistress, and his "secret" buddy David Duke (ex grand wizard of the KKK) Can't find a "family values" man any better than that I bet!

22. I had no idea Vitter was tied in with Dukkke |
|
Had I known that, he would have been at the top of the poll.
How on Earth did he get the 50 percent to win outright?1 In a state that has been trending Dem (Blanco, Landrieu) of late, yet?

23. Because Kerry didn't campaign in Louisiana |
|
Not that it would have done him any good, but Vitter would not have managed 50%. I think he got 51%. That's the price we pay of giving up on so many states. At least we probably saved Salazar by making a fight of Colorado this time.

24. To the Republicans here Blanco was the "Lesser of two evils" |
|
They were quoted as saying things like "Well, if I have to vote for one, I guess I'll vote for the woman because at least she's from Louisiana, and not some dark foreigner". (She ran against Bobby Jindal who is Indian). Lovely group of republicans we have down here, aren't they? They have such open minds.
