The SOTU is tradionally any Presidents venue for outlining his or her agenda.
Is is even feasible for ALl Democratic Senators and Representatives to be in the chamber the night of the SOTU? Just being there seems to be some sort of endorsement or willingness to listen.
It may be a stupid idea, but why the fuck do they have to be there and pretend to give him their attention?

3. That would be political suicide |

If you want to drive the center even more to the Republican's, you'd get the entire Democratic caucus to boycott the SOTU.

The consequences of ignoring Joe Sixpack's issues are simple. Losing election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after election after ...
ad infinitum.

Joe Sixpack. However, unless and until we restore integrity to the voting prcess, then yes, I agree with you. We will continue to lose elections.

6. say they all skip the speech and spend the evening volunteering... |
|
... and binding up the wounds of chimpy's many economic victims?
After all, that would be a far more productive use of time.
