10. Retire. With extreme prejudice.
If the guy is told to retire, he won't. Find a way to make him go away.

11. No, let's give a chance to go out like John Elway
Back-to-back wins to end his career and all is well. Then he can sell cars.

12. YES, Please!
Shrum is a terrible strategist. I don't think it's a coincidence that he's 0 for 8.

It's true that we should take insider accounts like Newsweek with a grain of salt, but even if it is not true, I still don't like Shrum. His speeches sound stale and they were terrible for Kerry. If the Newsweek article is true (and other stories have said similar things) then many of the campaign's most disastrous decisions can be traced to Shrum - not refuting the SBVT, not being forceful on Iraq (Shrum wanted to "play it safe" and warned Kerry from appearing too "dovish"), etc.

I wish he had never gotten within one inch of Kerry's campaign.

14. Shrum
The problem isn't with Shrum, its with campaigns that give him the role as chief strategist. He's excellent at making hard hitting ads. He should not be the chief strategist.

18. he makes good ads
he shouldn't be a chief strategist. This doesn't mean he's been working for the Republicans.
