Thoughts after leaving a Call To Action on the Election |
|
I just got back from a convention where my uncle (www.greenberetpriest.com) invited me to see.
There was an intense display of soldiers' boots and the names of the dead "Coalition Forces" and Iraqi citizens (number was only representative in 10's) where the names of the dead were read aloud.
Thinking about Fallujah tonight and seeing this is something every Bush supporter should be forced to see.
There were a few other events that I saw, but the best one was a Election Discussion in the form of a caucus,
What that means is that groups of people form a circle and each group has a list of questions they must discuss and write concise answers down on large pieces of paper, which will be displayed later.
The questions were based about what the state of the country is in, what the definition of real "moral" values are and what to do to make a change.
Some ideas: - Set up vigils - the press loves it and you can get your message out
- Discuss issues with those who may be "swing" Bush voters, like what "Pro-life" really means, etc.
- Make sure to keep in contact with those you just spent many hours with working on the campaign
- Set up events that look at 2006 election strategy
- Get back together on or near Inauguration Day...whether at your town or in DC
- Make sure to keep the young voters interested
Anyway, it felt good to commiserate and actually think about next steps.
