Red State DUer's. Buck up. It happend to us CA Duer's too.
When our party failed us in CA, and we ended up with the Gropenator, we were derided as stupid, poorly educated idiots who got the Governor we deserved.

It cooled down after a while, and we kept fighting. Hang in there.

1. Good points, that should be taken to heart. Things will simmer down..
..soon enough here at DU, and the fight will continue. I've come to realize that people just really need this time to vent, and it's understandable, if sometimes hurtful.
Excellent advice, thanks.

2. I know CA went blue but with 38 percent voting. We need to bump that up
3 percent by next election and another 5 percent by 2008.

5. Agreed. Did the positive exit polls keep people home? It should
have been a much higher turnout.

Lots of our GOTV efforts were focused on swing states.

4. gotta find a scapegoat
It is much easier to sterotype us as backwoods country fucks than to look in the mirror and figure out why the Democratic Party has lost it's way. Kerry won the big cities in the north but if you look at maps of county voting, he sucked just as bad in the rural areas of the north as he did down here.

6. Yes, it's not a geographic divide. It's an urban/rural divide.
Unfortunately, that divide can be exploited with gerrymandering and that's part of what has happened with Congress.
