Poll question: If 2008 were Dennis Kucinich vs. Condoleeza Rice, who would win? |
|
A very liberal white males vs. a conservative black female. Who has a better shot of winning the Presidency in America 2004?

3. Don't underestimate Dennis' populist credentials |
|
In a race vs. a conservative white male, Dennis would be hard-pressed to win. However, running Condy, getting out the southern conservative base would be a very difficult prospect. In the meantime, Dennis makes a strong play for votes in places like Alabama, Georgia, Ohio, Tenessee...
Sexism and racism would work to our advantage in this contest.

|
I agree we need not underestimate his populist credentials which is what I liked most about him.

7. We wouldn't have to appeal, Condy would do all the work for us |
|
Every time she appeared on TV, she would be a living appeal to sexism and racism.
Conversely, the only thing I really appreciate about the bush administration is its attempts to place minorities and women in positions of prominence. So what if these are blatantly tokenistic pandering to groups where republicans get weak support? It accustoms Americans to seeing diversity in power.
But just try to run her at the top of the ticket.

6. Well, I know 2 Republicans who'd vote blank then. |
|
My Kerry republican friends were outraged at the suggestion by other Oregon Republicans that Rice should be the candidate in '08. They really dislike her.

8. Condi, due to the media |
|
if we had a functioning media, then Condi would be exposed as a liar that shouldn't be trusted to run a lemonade stand.
Sadly, organizations like FactCheck.org and all the networks would do their darndest to make Condi and Dennis look equally dishonest, like they did with Bush and Kerry.

Kucinich will never be electible on a natinal level.
He's a great man, but it's just not going to happen. Those of you who support him nationally do know that, don't you? (Just curious)...

10. How about reasons, instead of just regurgitating 'electability'? |

Is that a word you have ever heard from a Republican?

12. Condi, in a landslide |
|
Dennis Kucinich being the Democratic nominee would be the end of our party.
He would lose and lose bad if he ran for Governor in his own state, and he would lose if he ran against DeWine or Voinivich for an open Senate Seat.

Dennis, while a good guy, would never win. His new age vegan tendencies and his questionable record as Mayor of Cleaveland would be the demise of his candidacy.

18. Kindasleezy would win. |
|
Dennis can look calm and statesman-like at times, but at others, he can be shrill and fanatic, which will turn off moderates. Stuff like the "Department of Peace" won't go over well with the public. In short, Dennis has a few good ideas, but he markets them (and himself) poorly.
