The last 4 Years - what a nightmare. (CAUTION: infuriating pics galore)
Please leave NOW if you don't like unpleasant pics.
The last four years have been an unbelievable nightmare on the national level.

And there's no reason to expect the indignities over the next four years to be any better.

Retrospectives like this help me get pissed, then motivated. If it works for you, please make use of it.

Whatever area you choose to fight in is up to you, but FIGHT!

1. I'm not infuriated
...because this is what it will always be to me: The world I know. There is no point in unfocused, useless anger over the fact that life is unfair. The only thing one can really do is to move on and do what the heart and mind tells us. Do what you can with the time that is given to you.

2. These pics all piss me off, each in a unique way.
(except for "save overtime pay" - I like that message. It's hard to find a photo of Bush SLASHING OT.)

And I'm not angry that life is unfair. I'm angry that a smug, smirking, moronic, murderous, evil lunatic is at the controls of our country, using MY tax money to kill innocents and rip to shreds what little remains of the new deal.

I'm even more angry that most Americans are clueless enough to believe that it's nothing more than "ending the culture of dependency".

But thanks for the sermon anyway...

3. Bush is not a president I support either

But I've dug around enough to know that what is happening today is the result of things that got started decades ago. The greatest thing threatening this country really is the unaccountable power held by corporations and the industrialists behind them. There has never been a time where they held more power than they do today, and they must be checked, or there is going to be much more of the same in the coming decades.

Those think tanks, institutes, foundations, controlled news outlets, and other components of the rightwing apparat took decades to build and consolidate, and I fear it could take us just as long to build a counterpart to those things. I fear that while we are busy rebuilding what is left on our side, they will continue to move further ahead at a faster rate and do even more damage than has already been done so far before we could catch up. They have been very busy slowly chipping away at some of the things progressives have done in the 20th century. They don't ever seem to sleep or rest; they're truly industrious, and the worrisome thing is that they continue to build at a fever pitch. They won't stop.

I'm not saying that it isn't okay to jump up and down and scream expletives. I think it's all perfectly fine. I find it odd in a way when I saw this thread, and I don't mean to offend. I guess it's just that my point of view on things has always led me to shrug my shoulders and continue to work on. I've always seen it as a desperate struggle for power and control and what to do with that, so when bad shit happens, it's just one new item in a long list of crimes and evils committed against us or some other poor folks half-way around the world for the sake of power and control. Sometimes I worry if I'm at risk of becoming desensitized.

4. I'm with you on this. I'm NOT desensitized. I'm MORE sensitive
now than I ever was throughout my life. At near 56, I have been let down more times than I can count... I'm fed up and haven't much time left to struggle for what's right, but struggle and FIGHT I will...it's all or nothing now.

Honestly, I am pretty fed up with the ELITISTs on in BOTH parties. "Can't we all just get along and move on.." :puke:

8. Some people have a mellow, philosophical way of dealing with things.
I'm more of the Mike Malloy type - get really pissed.

But I don't begrudge those who can keep things in perspective and be calm.

The one of Rove & Hughes in the hunting gear pissed me off too.

I can't not laugh when I see his ridiculous, exaggerated zombie-like features.

11. I was thinking of starting a web site with images of the past four years..
I wanted to use it to show how scary these past four years have been. I'm looking at buying the domain fourmoreyears.com. Each photo would fall in a category(9/11, Iraq, jobs, economy, etc.). They would show how bad things have been these past four years. They would all be actual photos.. not photoshoped.

I would then send this link by email to anyone who voted for Bush. I think it's time to play hardball. These people need have no idea of the pain and suffering in this world... and how much of it has been caused by George Bush.
