...where Bush takes guests and it's supposed to be SO BEAUTIFUL?
I seen flat land and some trees and manmade lakes. I think it's kinda ugly.

2. The Hill Country is much prettier. |

But quite expensive nowadays. If the Bush family had any real interest in the state, they would have bought some prime Hill Country land years ago.
But the Bushes have only bought houses here as needed, then sold them--especially since Bush Sr has spent so much of his career living in government housing. Senior's official residence while President was a suite the The Houstonian, a fancy hotel & spa. After he left DC, a retirement house was built on a tiny lot in Houston's Tanglewood--perhaps the 3rd or 4th most prestigious neighborhood in the city.

And it's not a ranch....no matter how much Shrub would like to believe it. You can see it from the road and it's NOT impressive. And he brings world leaders down here to Texas and that's the only impression they have of Texas? King Ranch is a ranch, not Shrub's little patch in Crawford.

Nice when he bluebonnets are blooming, but culturally pretty arid. You can go eat at the Luby's where that guy went nuts and look at all the military hardware sitting around. Of course, I expect most of that is in Iraq now.
