We know that less than 10% of 18-25 year old people voted. What percentage of blacks voted? Just curious. I'm going to start attacking the GOP on the race card.

1. Those numbers aren't accurate regarding young voters
A much greater percentage of 18-29 year olds voted this year. One estimate has it at 51%, even before absentee ballots are included. College aged voters use absentee ballots by necessity, for obvious reasons. There may have been 3-4 million young viters who used absentee ballots.

Young voters remained at 17% of the electorate only because the other age groups increased participation. in similar proportion.

I don't know the specific percentage numbers among blacks, but again it looks like it rose similarly to the nation. African Americans were 11% of the voters, about what I expected. We declined from 90-9 in favor of Gore to 88-11 for Kerry, very predictable since an incumbent president attains a level of loyalty regardless of how disastrous his policies have been.

4. Blaming cell phones is too abstract
Really, the "blame" falls on 9/11. That event was probably destined to hurt us either way. If Gore had been president we would have been bombarded with criticism of him and Clinton, that our military and intelligence declined during 8 years of Democratic rule. "On Gore's watch" would have been shouted in the media for 3+ years. I really think Bush would have won a rematch with Gore this year, even if 2000 had put the right man in the White House.
