A CALL TO ARMS: Let's Bust the Vote Fraud Story Wide Open Tonight
Edited on Mon Nov-08-04 03:44 PM by SC_Dem
Folks, we have been presented with a golden window of opportunity tonight. On Keith Olbermann's "Countdown" (8PM Eastern on MSNBC) tonight, he is set to air a story on "voting irregularities" in Ohio and Florida. Now that we have a credible media source backing us, it helps us immeasurably. We have our story will have an "air of legitimacy" to it now. We're no longer paranoid tinfoil hatters.

That said, do the following:

1. Alert all your friends, neighbors, and loved ones about what's coming down the pipe. Urge them to watch Olbermann's piece. Get the snowball rolling down the hill.

2. After the story is over, besiege the local, regional, national, and international media and demand to know what happened on Tuesday in Florida and Ohio. It is especially crucial to hit the media markets in those two states. FL and OH...tonight we've got your back.

3. Tomorrow, talk about it at work, at school, and everywhere else. Sound very outraged and indignant. I know I am and I know we all are. It's now time to do something about it. Rinse and repeat.

I'll say it now.

We are the tip of the sword, and its time to do battle for one last time for democracy. It's time for us to stand up for all that is decent and good in America. It's time for us to show the world who we are and what we stand for. It's time to show the world what Americans are made of.

WE SHALL OVERCOME! WE SHALL OVERCOME!

1. you didn't read the news
Bev Harris wrote last night that a clampdown on election fraud stories has come down on the networks -- the info came to her from a source deep inside network news. It's very likely that Olbermann will not be allowed to air his story.

8. I know.
And I hope he sticks with it. But here's the blurb for today's show:

Monday, 8 p.m. ET
Keith counts down the surprising list of the men and women who may join President Bush's second term cabinet.

3. In any case, Kerry conceeded
so what can/could happen at this point anyhow?

If they find voting irregularities that would have changed the outcome, it's TOO LATE!

K/E already threw in the towel.

It's on Olbermann's blog.

6. For a 100th time, this is not about Kerry.
This is about every vote being counted accurately, or we have no democracy.

11. Okay, after a lot of searching for who would best investigate this
I came up with a news outlet.

The Toledo Blade, which is known for having a top-flight investigative department to cover stuff like this. In addition, the paper endorsed both Gore and Kerry. So I think we should start handing off what we know to them and see if they'll cover the story.

LUCAS COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS
Chairman vows to meet count deadline

By FRITZ WENZEL
BLADE POLITICAL WRITER

The Lucas County Board of Elections will meet a Dec. 1 deadline to count the 216,453 votes cast in the Nov. 2 general election and to certify the results, board Chairman Bernadette Noe vowed yesterday.
But she told fellow board members in a planning meeting yesterday, "I have no confidence that we know what we're doing to get to Dec. 1."

She said she was upset that the elections staff has no realistic plan to make sure all the votes are properly accounted for in time to meet the deadline. The board directed staff leaders to develop one swiftly. Local elections officials are allowed to begin their "official count" of ballots Saturday morning.

<snip>

The county again used optical scan paper ballots in the election, which have proven to be expensive to print and time-consuming to count.

The tabulators are under lease from Diebold Election Services, and will be replaced by electronic touch-screen machines, perhaps as early as next year.
