Extreme Puke Alert: 'Declaration of Expulsion: A Modest Proposal'
Sorry if dupe and I hate to print these words, so I won't. Read it if you can stomach it. A wingnut bashes Lincoln's viewpoints on the Civil War, then proposes - not that the blue states should secede the U.S. - but that they be completely ousted.

How much you wanna bet someone in Congress will propose this? We've seen the unthinkable happen before.

This is but one of the monsters that Reagan Revolution, Gingrich's Contract "with" America & Bush's Compassionate Conservatism hath created...

1. Heh...
THEN who would pay taxes for their red state asses?

Not gonna happen. The blue states financially support the red states. And they know that.

4. The author forgot D.C.
It comes with us blue staters; all the monuments and real and symbolic representations of democracy. Nyah, Nyah.

6. This would require a massive reshuffling of the population.
Which would be a very interesting logistical problem, considering the red states have the acreage and the blue states have the people.

8. Interesting.
Let 'em. And let all of us liberals living in Red States move to the Blue States. I'm sick of the phony Republican 'values'. They have none. I could tell you stories about the 'nice' Mormon Republicans I live amongst, and what they do to their children, but I don't want to scum up this thread.

9. See? There is grounds for agreement between us and the right
Let them go. They can use Texas for their deep-water ports and I'd be happy to let them have D.C. as well. Hot, muggy, swampy mess.

Bring the nation's capital back to NYC where it belongs and let us move on into the future without having the dead-Red weight of BUSHUSA hanging around our necks like a dead albatross.

Of course, it'll never happen. Why would the red states give up all that pork that blue taxpayers underwrite every year?

10. I support the idea,
but you know it would never happen. Logistical nightmare. What about all the federal property in the states. How do we divide up the U.S. military? 6 carrier groups per country?

And the author forgot to add Washington and Oregon (both solid blue) to his list as well as DC. No, as much as we like the idea, I'm afraid the red states have no choice but to drag us down into fascism with them.
