Party. Hey, who needs a morality that depends upon actually exercising a conscience, when all you have to do to be a good citizen is worry about other people being sinners?

4. Jesus Harold Christ!
We have the Pharisees stampeding this country right over a cliff while the Scribes tell us of Laci Peterson and Michael Jackson 24/7 on our thoughtscreens.

This biblical feces is getting loathesome, no?

3. I have a bumper sticker
"Self righteousness-the unforgiveable sin." It's next to "Don't Blame Me I voted for Kerry." I was viciously cut off in traffic on 64 East in NC last week, then flipped off, by one of the "rightgeous." All they need do is publically proclaim their faith, let other's do the fighting for their "moral" beliefs and all is right with their world.

6. The "Conservative" Sermon On The Mount
Blessed are the rich for all good things trickle down from them. Cursed are the poor for poverty results from their moral failings. Blessed are the war makers for they keep freedom on the march. Cursed are the peacemakers for they shall be called appeasers. Blessed are those who inflict harsh punishments for they maintain law and order. Cursed are those who forgive for they shall be called soft on crime. Blessed are those who pray loudly standing in the churches and on the corners sounding the trumpet before them. Cursed are those who shut the closet door and pray in secret for their prayers are not heard. Blessed are those who cast the first stone for the sake of sexual morality for that is the only morality that matters. Cursed are those who see sexuality as a private matter for marriage must be defended against them.

7. I prefer ethics...
which has more to do with personal character than 'moral values', which has to do with thrusting certain customs, beliefs or behaviors, usually dictated from a God figure, upon members of a society. Ethics comes from within oneself, while morals are outward behaviors meant to gain the approval of others. There are just too many instances of 'moral' people getting caught acting out sadistic or perverted behaviors behind closed doors for me to give this concept of 'moral values' any creedence whatsoever.

I think it would be sufficient if each of us were to abide by the most basic teachings of The Buddha, Jesus, Confucious and the Tao, it would be, 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.' or, 'Don't do to others that which you would not have done unto you.'
