what will it take for us to get to be more assertive?
It is becoming more and more clear that OH was fixed. about all we do is come to DU and whine about it. Do you think there will come a time when some group of us will storm Blackwell's office (or Jeb Bush's, or whoever's), drag him into the street, and demand some justice? Will take on the vote challengers with baseball bats? Will confront an FBI agent entering FL senior citizen's home to try to scare her into not voting?

I am probably a little sheltered living in IL, but if our GOP tried to keep people from voting here, there would be some serious repercussion. How much longer do you think we will content ourselves with whining, hand-wringing, and righteous indignation?

2. Not taking it lying down
It is pretty clear that we have been had (again). One group wants people to go the inauguration and then turn their backs on Bush. Oh yeah, that will fix him! Then maybe we could all hold our breath until we turn blue. Sounds like first grade to me, besides, in crowd shots they will just blend into a sea of people. Bush doesn't care anyway.

My feeling is that there should be a nation-wide strike on inauguration day and massive civil disobedience in protest of this fraud on the people. Somehow Bush needs to be aware that we are on to him and will take him down somehow. Maybe on particular days, say the 20th of each month, everyone who believes the election was stolen should drive with their emergency flashers on. It could make for some pretty dramatic pictures from the traffic helicopters and would give us a sense of who is on what side in this thing. If you get a ticket, so what? What constitutes an "emergency?" Plead not guilty, ask for a jury trial and discovery of the officer's personnel file.

There are a lot of perfectly legal civil disobedience things that people could do. Deposit a dollar into your checking account every day at the nearest ATM. File a Declaration of Estimated Tax even if you don't owe money, just to gum up the works. Mail a government official a letter, Certified Return Receipt, Deliver to Addressee Only. Run out of gas on the interstate exit ramp at rush hour. Don't buy beef for a week then don't buy some other foodstuff the next week to screw up the supply chain. Have a secular Christmas in January after the prices go down and skip the Jesusland holiday.

If Bush gets away with this our grandchildren are screwed, so let's get aggressive and creative.

3. i would go one step further
and call on everyone who voted for Kerry to refuse to pay their fed tax next 4/15. We will see how long this country, especially the red states and the war they love so much, would last without subsidies from the blue states. Let them try to put 50 million of us in Leavenworth.

4. Taxes
If you are like most people, they already have your money. Besides, why fight a crime by committing another one? Just do things that are legal but gum up the works. For example, everyone should ask for an extension and file in August (but not if you have a big refund coming which would be loaning them money.)

5. Yeah, we wouldn't want to do anything ILLEGAL
if today's Dems had been leading the patriots in 1773, they would have sat in taverns wringing their hands and complaining about how THAT King George was playing too rough. "Oh, I don't think we should dump tea in the harbor. We should play fair, so more people will be on our side."

Man, we are a pathetic lot.
