Dr. Frist-Mengele Orders Specter To Get in Lock Step...Or Else...
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 03:38 PM by jefferson_dem
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A Republican senator who has questioned whether an abortion opponent could win approval to the U.S. Supreme Court (news - web sites) must agree to back President Bush (news - web sites)'s nominees if he is to head the committee acting on those nominations, the Senate's Republican leader said.

Republican Sen. Arlen Specter (news, bio, voting record) of Pennsylvania, in line to become chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee (news - web sites), has yet to make a persuasive case that he should head the panel, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said on "Fox News Sunday."

The committee's actions in considering nominees for anticipated vacancies during Bush's second term will help shape the court's balance of power.

"I would expect Chairman Specter ... if it's Chairman Specter ... to have a strong predisposition to supporting that nominee sent over by President Bush," Frist said.

1. Keep pushing him, asshole...he'll eventually figure out that ...
he's affiliated with the wrong crowd. As for you, dr. bill, you can just kiss my shiny metal ass!

3. If they push Specter out...
Others will surely follow. But perhaps that is what they want. They are presently arrogant enough to think that they have destroyed the Dems as a political force.

4. I hope that they continue thinking exactly that...
nothing like blind arrogance to bring down those buffoons! Specter is not stupid, and I don't really think that he would lose popularity by leaving thoise thugs in the dirt.

8. I wish Specter would tell that TN asshole where to shove it.
Frist got the job of majority leader through dirty tricks. I don't like Trent Lott but I at least know what he is. Smartass Frist should keep his mouth shut. He is one of my senators but I do not claim him. And how many years does Specter have under his belt? Frist should be so lucky.

9. I suspect (hope?) that the public will get wise to Frist's...
ball licking of * soon enough to get him out of there altogether. Sadly, though, I also suspect that it will take a great deal more bloodshed overseas to get the message across that we are going in a horrible direction with this country.

2. I think they are over-playing their hand with their own Party....
Their majority is not so solid that they can ram whatever they want down the throats of everyone else. They seem to forget that there are 5 or 6 moderate Repubs, mostly from the NE, whom they need to hav a majority at all???

6. See, if Hoeffel had defeated Specter
the good Senator Leahy from Vermont would be next in line for that spot. i think

Specter's moderate views are OK but the guy is an asshole.

We need to work on crushing Santorum in 2006 and send him back to doing dogs. There's no excuse to have that right-wing extremist asshole in the blue state of PA.

10. actually it would be whoever the second republican in this committee would
be, that would be Chuck Grassley, a conservative Iowa republican, Leahy is the RMM of it I believe, the ranking minority member.

11. Maybe Zellout Miller can be
Arlen's second during the RNC duel! Senator-elect Burr can be Frist's second just for the name recognition...Got milk?
